2 men killed in Clarion Co. crash identified

From staff reports

Two Mercer County men have been identified as being killed in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning on Miola Road in Highland Township, Clarion County.

Clarion County Coroner Randall Stom said Mark Marcucci, 29, of West Middlesex, died of blunt force trauma. He was pronounced dead at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

Marcucci was a passenger in a 2017 Ram 1500 that Clarion state police said traveled over a culvert and struck a tree a half-mile north of Bigley Road at about 12:15 a.m. Saturday.

Kevin Yarabinec, 23, of Sharpsville, died Sunday evening at a Pittsburgh-area hospital, according to several published reports.

Two other occupants were flown to Pittsburgh hospitals for treatment of their injuries, police said. Their names haven’t been released by police, who say their investigation is continuing.

Three medical helicopters also responded to the scene along with Clarion Fire and Hose Co. volunteer firefighters and Clarion Hospital Ambulance. Shippenville-Elk volunteer firefighters set up a helicopter landing zone at the Clarion University stadium.
