2 killed in Forest County crash

Two people were killed in a one-vehicle crash at about 2:40 p.m. Monday on Route 66 in Howe Township, Forest County.

Marienville state police said the driver lost control of the vehicle and rolled the vehicle over an undetermined amount of times on the roadway.

The vehicle came to rest off the east side of the highway on the driver’s side, and both occupants were ejected from the vehicle, police said.

Police hadn’t released identifications for either of the victims as of 8 p.m. Monday.

Police said their investigation is continuing and the identities of the deceased would be released once they are verified and next of kin are notified.
