Two people died Friday in a fire at a residence in Heath Township, Jefferson County.
Marienville State Police said the blaze broke out at about 7 a.m. at 11334 Route 949 near Campers Paradise and Ames Circle in Heath Township. A 72-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man were found dead inside the residence.
Another woman was taken by STAT MedEvac helicopter to West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of smoke inhalation and moderate burns, police said.
The cause of the fire was unknown and the investigation was continuing Friday evening, police said.
The names of the deceased were being withheld Friday evening pending notification of the families.
Eight volunteer fire departments were at the scene.
